Short description of the company:
In exclusive premium resort Punta Skala near Zadar, on the coast near to the sea there is Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences. Stunning architecture, innovative equipment and mediterranean design make it the leading resort in Croatia constructed by the best world's architects. It consist of Family hotel Diadora (252 rooms), hotel & spa Iadera (210 rooms), Residences Senia (187 suits); hotels with 4 and 5 stars hotels with highly luxurious suits, exclusive restaurants, beautiful beaches and numerous sports and entertainment content. Iadera Punta Skala is the most luxurious hotel in the portfolio of Falkensteiner in Croatia. It is the most demanding and most expensive part of the complex on area of 8000 square meters.
Challenges:
Superior equipment and impeccable service were the requirements that had been set by the investor. The desire of investor was to implement the most modern technological systems to get the best solutions and to take the maximum from IP technology, simultaneously with savings in setting up the infrastructure. We have been involved in the project, while the objects were in the construction phase and that time we used to technologically shape Punta Skala with our experience. The greatest potential of this resort is big entry into the congress tourism. Professionally equipped conference space on more than 600 square meters, perfectly equipped business center, modern communication technologies in public areas and rooms and potential of this paradise resort that evokes creativity, are ideal for conference place. Thus there was a need for high quality and innovative infrastructure.
Solutions:
Mentioned solutions take the fact that between objects will be set optical infrastructure and that all equipment will be installed centrally using the IP technology advancements. By that Punta Skala has saved on infrastructure on things like central IP antenna station, centralized servers for interactive TV and Video on demand (VOD), centralized server for IP telephony and centralized authorization and Internet payment that would be implemented particularly for each object instead. Implementation period was following the completion of the object, but the basic infrastructure was set in the first step when the central system has been set. All systems are integrated with PMS system Protel that Punta Skala uses. By this is achieved centralized check-in/out and service billing.
System commissioning by the objects was summarized to installation of user devices such as phones and TV and connection to central system. The next step was widening of existing IP telephone system and through existing WAN links there have been connected Punta Skala and Falkensteiner offices in Zadar into a unique telephone system. Final upgrade of this system was finished with implementation of contact center for central sales of Falkensteiner in Croatia.
IP telephony and contact center
Communication solution Avaya Communication Manager is capacity of 1000+ users. In hotel rooms are set analog phones and in offices, reception areas and public areas IP telephony. Also that is software basis of contact center solution in Zadar. Avaya Contact Center Express is unique converged communication solution apropos transmission of voice and data on the same way and high quality voice, data and software communication application. With the ease of installation and cost reduction in maintenance, the advantage of this solution is in the union of all necessary equipment for a complete communication solution while in traditional case it is necessary to obtain each individual device. This software is designed to meet all specific network requirements characteristic for particular countries.
IPTV and Interactive TV
In the technical central has been set central infrastructure for all hotels and consist of IPTV servers Power view capacity of 50+ programs, Power TV, Interactive TV monitoring system, VOD server, Internet server for Internet radio and Internet over TV services. In rooms were placed in-room sets that govern the Samsung Interactive television and are composed of SBB and TV remote control with stand and cable sets. System works on HD standard. IPTV and Interactive TV are the solutions of new generation of audio and video signal transmission over IP protocol. Transmission of signal over informatic network LAN, WAN, MAN provides the hotel equal quality of picture in all rooms.
An advantage of this solution is in possibility of upgrade or expands, without physical limitations of TV channels. Interactive TV allows to hotel guests access to entertainment and information on one place. In every time user can in their room or in any other place in hotel access to entertainment content or information about the hotel. With transition from analog to digital transmission, it is necessary to offer to customers more options such as interactive learning, possibility of watching the movies on demand at any time, participation in games, possibility of obtaining the most diverse information (traffic, phone numbers, address,…), obtaining of the list of TV channels on your favorite genre and the possibility of Internet shopping.
Wired and wireless Internet access
Authorization and Internet access billing via implemented wired and wireless networks is done through central Nomadix gateway and software for generating HSM vouchers. For the purposes of guests authentication and authorization and for the system of wireless and wired Internet, it is installed Nomadix system for hotel business that enables creation of quality and „smart“ network whose result is faster and reliable Internet access and billing of Internet service in hotel rooms. This modern solution would significantly reduce costs of telephone calls to foreign countries and provide faster access to the Internet.
Passive network infrastructure
In hotel Iadera we have done the structured cabling and fiber network for the hotel needs with network measurement and with release of protocols and documenting of built condition. With constant development of active network equipment, there have been set high requirements for wiring system. Cabling and quality network infrastructure is the basis for any computer system. Structured cabling provides a high quality network system of multiple purposes for computer, multimedia and telephone world. That every complex work harmonized it's needed to have well-constructed network infrastructure.
High and low voltage installation
Performing the high and low voltage and lightning rods in hotel Iadera, we presented the highest degree of integration of heterogeneous systems and we have shown that with our own staff and competencies, are able to perform such demanding projects.
